From February 11-13, 2000, the Association of Rocky Mountain Area Diplomacy Adversaries (ARMADA) held its first tournament in Denver, CO. The very idea had only occurred to us in October of 1999, just a few months after the birth of the ARMADA, so we weren't sure we were up to the task. With our membership consisting of Manus Hand, Sean Roberts, and about five guys who hadn't asked to be taken off our mailing list yet, the ARMADA had a lot of work to do to get ready.

How did we do? Well....

With world-class players like Edi Birsan, Chris Martin, and Larry Peery flying in to attend, with other players coming from as far away as Canada just for the event, and with a local turnout of nearly forty players, the inaugural Regatta was an outstanding success! So much so that it led to the ARMADA's successful bid (presented by our fearless leader at World DipCon X in Baltimore) to host the 34th Annual North American Championships at the next Regatta! See you in 2001!
